Pay for care, not a back office
Typical home care spends about half of every hour on overhead, much of it a back office of schedulers and coordinators working in old software, and families pay for it in the price. Steady's AI does that work, and the savings go to caregivers and families. Independent caregivers set their own rates, and Steady shows typical rates for your area.

Why do caregivers set their own rates?
Caregivers on Steady are independent. They set their own rate, and Steady shows the typical rates for your area so you know what's fair. Most start at $17 an hour for companion care and $20 for CNA care.
What does Steady's fee pay for?
Steady's fee is a flat $6.50 an hour, shown on its own line. It pays for payments, insurance, background checks, backup cover and the AI that runs your schedule and visit updates. It doesn't pay for an office.
Is there a minimum?
Visits start at 2 hours. There are no long minimum shifts, so you can book the few hours a week you need.
How do I pay my caregivers?
Through the Steady app. Your payment goes straight to your caregivers, and they keep all of their rate. Steady's fee is a separate line.
How do caregivers handle taxes?
Caregivers can choose to save part of each payout for taxes automatically, into an account in their own name. It's optional, and it's their money.
